‘So what do you think?’ asked my hubby as we were cycling back along the round Luberon Trail from Merindol this afternoon.
‘What do you mean? – What do I think?’ I asked in return, only for him to reply ‘How long do you think it would take us to get bored here?’
The simple answer is that I can’t imagine for a moment the time when I wouldn’t want to go for a cycle ride along the quiet lanes……………

………………..or potter around one of the incredible markets,

………………..or just walk some of the lovely hiking trails in the area

This area just feels comfortable – we both relax the minute we arrive and the days just seem to pass very easily – no effort required!

The boys also love being here and their enjoyment of cycling the area just continues to grow. Today they waved goodbye to us at Merindol and made their own way back to the house along the well-marked trail (a distance of just over 16 miles), something I could hardly imagine happening at home. (I have to admit that I’m still working on developing their love of markets, but fear I’m losing that battle at the moment!!)

Tonight the car has been packed & the bikes loaded up, before we head off about 4 tomorrow morning. It’s a long drive back to Devon (via the Tunnel), but we don’t resent a minute of it as it means we can spend time here.
Of course we still yearn to have a house here and each time we come it just reinforces our wish to live here at some point in the future, but until then we will have to content ourselves with just coming on holiday here as much as possible.
As far as getting bored ……………………………
After 2 weeks I feel we’ve hardly scratched the surface. I look at the fliers on lamp-posts and notice-boards and see everything happening over the next few weeks that I would really like to visit – from Vide-Greniers to Brocantes and I look at the map and see all the cycle-rides and walks that we haven’t had time to do this holiday.
One day, if we don’t achieve our dream of buying a house here then we’ll come over on an open-ended ticket & stay until we get bored ………………….. I have a feeling we will never go home!!

I have so enjoyed your posts; I can’t tell you.
I bet you would never get bored.
Thank you for taking the time to share your joy and pleasure in what are really the simple, uncomplicated, natural pleasures of life.
Look forward to our next coffee….safe trip home. X

Thanks Dawn- I’m really pleased you enjoyed reading the posts, it’s been a really nice thing to do each day. As you say it’s the simple things in life that are the nicest & it’s sometimes easy to forget that with everything else that is going on. Back now, but counting the days till we go again & look forward to a coffee soon J
